MOST COMBINED POINT'S FROM EACH EVENT WINS ALL
Divisions:
· Check, Cast, & Run – This division will compete at a moderate pace. If hunting, this group would cast the hounds for awhile, but then check and cast for the scent again. (Walk/Trot/Canter)
· Tally Ho! – Just as it says – This group competes for the fastest time. In hunting, if the hounds strike a scent . . . Tally Ho and away we go! For safety reasons, extreme speed will be penalized. (Trot/Fast Canter)
Description of a Hunter Pace.
A hunter pace is a competitive event derived from foxhunting. Groups of riders follow a marked predetermined course through our plantation on wooded trails which covers about 13 miles. Instead of fox for the hunt we have a correct ideal time to complete the set course. The team with the closest ideal time win first place. We have two divisions at our hunter pace events. The Check, Cast, and Run is a walk, trot, canter at a moderate pace with optional jumps. The Tally Ho is a trot, fast canter pace for the faster ideal time. Jumps are through out course and are for the Tally Ho participants. Teams are usually three to four riders per group. Checkpoints along the way ensure riders are staying on course. Each group is timed when starting course and upon finishing course. Riders can be penalized for riding to fast. It's just that simple, anyone can participate. All of our events here at Inlet Point Plantation are always family oreinted.

Thanks to all participants and all spectators at our first Hunter Pace in November 2009. It was a successful start, with many more to come. We had forty five riders at our first Hunter Pace and hope to grow. We are adding many more jumps and money to the series coming in 2010.
We hope to see you at our next Series Of Jackpot Hunter Paces starting in November Through Febuary, once each month.
